PB&J+C Smoothie

Peanut butter + cherries + cacao = A match made in smoothie heaven! Put simply: A decadent, chocolatey peanut butter and jelly sandwich minus the bread, plus the extra health benefits. Gluten free, vegan, and paleo!

Cherries IconIngredients

    2 medium bananas (semi-ripe)
    2 cups sweet red cherries (frozen)
    1 tbsp. peanut butter
    2 tsp. cacao powder (raw)
    1 tbsp. hemp seeds (shelled & raw)
    ¼ cup coconut milk or coconut water (or favorite nut milk of your choice)
    1 whole cherry & ½ tsp. chia seeds (for garnish, optional)

 1  Peel two bananas, break apart into smaller chunks, and put in blender.

 2  Add frozen cherries. What we do is purchase the cherries fresh, cut them in halves and freeze them ourselves.

 3  Add peanut butter, cacao powder, and shelled hemp seeds.

 4  Pour coconut milk or coconut water over all ingredients.

 5  Smoothiefy everything with the blender! Depending on your blender, you may have to mix it around with a spoon halfway through.

 6  Enjoy the peanut-buttery fruitiness with a hint of chocolatey zing.

…And for brunch or lunch, why not try a colossal salad? You’ll only be halfway through the day and already have ingested a vast majority of all the vital nutrients you need!

  1. Sounds good, I’m a fan of chia, never tried hemp seeds. I would replace the peanut butter with almond butter and use frozen bananas, but the rest sounds perfect!

  2. Thanks for liking for recent blog post. You have a great blog here! Have you tried PPB powder before instead of standard peanut butter? I find it great for smoothiess and baking and its 80% less fat (and stops you standing in the kitchen eating it out the pot hahah- we all do it hahah).
