Hey! Eva Bob here. We may be the Co-Creators of Health Mastery Movement, but this website is for all of us. We’re simply two health buffs (not nuts… we swear :P) and life-lovers on a mission: to help you feel like a zillion bucks… Why settle for a million or any less than that?

 Our Story

We also happen to be eternal students… of life, spending many years rigorously researching, reading, and learning anything we could get our hands/eyes on. But intellectualizing is only half of the feat… We’ve also been leading a healthy lifestyle for about ten years now collectively. The end result? A healthier, happier us, followed by this extensive nutrition, fitness, and lifestyle e-archive!

Let us tell you, this has been a consistent learning process. What instigated our healthy living journeys is a bit different, but we both got something very similar: a wake-up call! Sometimes, serious surgery or ending up in the ER without a clue what’s wrong is enough to tell you: “Hey, you better start making healthier choices or else this body you walk around in will constantly remind you that something’s off.”

Bob’s Story

I’m what most people would refer to as  a health “nut,” but I can’t say I was always this Bob-HMMway. For over ten years, I have been studying nutrition and fitness and have been working really hard to optimize my health and help others do the same. Furthermore, I come from a lineage of successful athletes, including my great grandfather who was a multiple award-winning weightlifter & the Founder of Olympic Health Club. This has definitely served as a huge influence in my life.

Not to get too personal here, but there was a time in my life (during my late teens) when I needed to undergo a serious surgery. While I was eating fairly healthy (at least what I thought was healthy at the time) and working out quite a bit, it hit me: I’m not doing anywhere near enough! That’s when I took on the world of health full-throttle and I haven’t looked back.

Once I met Eva back in 2013, I soon discovered that there was another health “nut” in my midst. She completely understood (and appreciated) my “eccentric” habit of drinking apple cider vinegar shots and spending a supremely long time reading labels during our adventures at the grocery store. We’ve been partners and health advocates ever since.

Eva’s Story

To sum myself up in a few words: I’m a gluten-free healthy foodie. If I were to tell that to Eva_HMMmy kid or teenage self, those versions would have a good laugh. I mean, I used to brag about eating two double cheese burgers from Burger King in one sitting! Vegetables used to be my least favorite food in the world. It’s actually painful typing this right now… Needless to say, while I have never been considered overweight, my health wasn’t up to par. (Thin doesn’t necessarily mean healthy!)

Growing up, I took a lot of unnecessary antibiotics and even had serious allergic reactions to some of them (penicillin being one of them). This wreaked havoc on my digestive tract that I’m still working towards repairing. I also had inexplicable stomach issues and would find myself getting sick to my stomach after most meals.

Anyway, my true breaking point came in 2012 when my dad rushed me to the ER due to a sharp pain in my gut. The doctors couldn’t quite figure out what was wrong and prescribed me some antibiotics. Deep down, I knew what needed to be done: I had to cut out all junk food, processed sugar & carbs, etc. cold turkey. No ands, ifs, or buts about it. And I actually followed through and immediately started feeling lighter and more vibrant.

Throughout the past few years, I’ve seen some notable changes but I’m still on the mend. What can I expect when I’ve been living an unhealthy lifestyle for 20ish years of my life, and have only been an 100%-devoted health buff for several years?

Since then and even during my junk-food-gorging days ironically, I have studied nutrition a whole lot. Recently, I received a Diploma (with distinction) in Sports & Exercise Nutrition from Shaw Academy.

Meeting Bob has served as a catalyst for the healthy life I’m currently living. I’d have to say I knew he was a keeper AND we’d be working together the moment he tried the colossal salad I made for him and said, “This is SO amazing. This is the best thing I have ever eaten!” It’s our favorite food to this day. 😀

Your Story

Now let’s talk about you… That’s the point of this entire Health Mastery Movement venture, after all! Needless to say, we’re super glad you’re here and we’re eager to share what we have learned with you, so you can notably enhance your health and overall state of being.

One simple question you may be asking is…

“How AND why is this website useful for me?”

Excellent question!

Well, just like you, we are seeking to better ourselves daily in all areas of our lives (health especially). We understand that you can have it all: a fulfilling relationship, lots of cash, a spacious home, and a great career, but if your physical well-being isn’t up to par, all of that other stuff doesn’t really matter. Health truly is the greatest wealth of them all! Put simply: We’ve made it our purpose to help you feel your very best.

On top of that, we’re big on science-backed evidence and supporting our findings with prevalent studies. We aim to be a trusted source, all while maintaining a sense of fun and lightheartedness in everything that we do. Basically, we do all the not-so-fun research so you don’t have to.

  4. Hi, Eva and Bob! Thanks for stopping by and liking my foodie blog. By the way, my husband has started this year with the intermittent fasting (IF), and it is working perfectly for him. I saw you wrote on IF as well.

  5. I read this before but I’m shocked at myself that I forgot about a lot of your personal stories. It’s often a shock event that really changes the way people live, whether that’s our health or other things, it’s often something like that that’s a wake up call. I’m glad you two are so happy and healthy 🙂 I confess I’m someone who takes forever to read food labels and try to avoid anything processed to be honest 🙂 I hate antibiotics. I was over-prescribed them as a child by doctors who saw any asthmatic problem as a chance to treat with antibiotics. 🙁 Turns out I never needed them and the asthma now doesn’t exist!

    • Thanks for reading, Cat! 🙂 Challenges can be blessings in disguise. I’m sorry you had to go through that growing up. 🙁 Luckily your asthma is a thing of that past, though.

We’re glad you’re so mindful of what you eat! Reading those labels is paramount.
